Affiliated to the Simien Lodge - at 3,260m, the highest hotel in Africa - Ethiopian Adventures specialise in tours to the Simien Mountains; an UNESCO World Heritage site.
Simien National Park: (Established in 1969)
Massive erosion over the years on the Ethiopian plateau has created one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world, with jagged mountain peaks, deep valleys and sharp precipices dropping some 1,500 m.
The park is home to some extremely rare animals such as the Gelada baboon, the Simien fox and the Walia ibex, a goat found nowhere else in the world.
Other tour destinations covered by Ethiopian Adventures include the Tigray Churches in the north, Bahir Dar and Lake Tana, Lalibela, Bale Mountains, Awash National Park and the Rift Valley lakes south of Addis and the Omo Valley - where the edges of South Sudan and Kenya meet.
