Founded in 1962, the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) represents the entire spectrum of the hospitality industry's private sector including National Hotel Associations across the Caribbean region, hundreds of individual hotel members with thousands of available rooms, and a few hundred supplier companies represented as 'Allied members'.
CHTA is the voice of the Caribbean hospitality industry for the development of the region in the highly competitive and sophisticated environment of international tourism.
Sixty percent of the hotels within the CHTA membership are classed as 'small hotels' (with 75 rooms or less), which indicates the importance of the economic vitality of these enterprises to the well being of the region.
The Caribbean Travel Marketplace affords tourism suppliers the opportunity to meet face-to-face with wholesalers from around the world selling Caribbean vacation travel.
