Portugal 1 - Iceland 1

Tuesday, 14th June

Portugal and Iceland have met twice before, during qualification for Euro 2012. Portugal won both encounters and much of the same is expected in St-Etienne.

The script seemed to be going to plan with Portugal completely dominating in the first-half.

Just after the half-hour, Andre Gomes was given too much time on the right and used it to cross in low for Nani to tuck in.

Just five minutes into the second-half, Johann Berg Gudmundsson's deep cross allowed Birkir Bjarnason to nip in and score Iceland's first goal at a major tournament.

Iceland's Hannes Halldorsson was made to work for the next forty minutes but he kept the ball out of the net and Iceland held on to a point.

Group F in St-Etienne.
