Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, was born on this day - 21st April - ninety years ago; in 1926.
At the age of 25, Princess Elizabeth became Queen when her father passed away, while she was staying in a remote part of Kenya; on Wednesday, 6th February 1952.
The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II took place in Westminster Abbey on 2nd June, 1953.
The Queen is Head of State of the United Kingdom and 15 other Commonwealth realms.
Her Majesty's official birthday parade - Trooping The Colour - takes place on the second Saturday in June - which will be June 11th this year.
