Top 5 Sardinia s Beaches

Resting in the waters between Corsica and Tunisia, Sardinia is the second largest Mediterranean island and probably the first for its beauty. It boasts a coastline of 1897 km with steep cliffs primarily located in the northern part of the island and white-snow sandy beaches rimmed with turquoise sea. Charmed by the natural beauty, Sardinia receives thousands of travelers every year that come for some Mediterranean sun and cultural and sports activities. Windsurfers... see more and kitesurfers, hikers, trekkers and bikers, amateurs of diving and snorkelling, fans of canyoning and kayaking, there is room for everyone.
Inhabited by the Nuragic civilization, a tribe of Sea Peoples, in the remote times and featuring its the remains including Nuraghe Su Nuraxi, Giants´ grave, Su Romanzesu by Bitti and pieces exhibited in the Museo archaeologico nazionale and other important cites, Sardinia will be a great place for an archaeology and history lover as well. As the islands was also under the Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantine and Spanish rule, it boasts architecture pearls including thermae, necropolis, points of cult, basilicas and churches.
Foodies will also take advantage of their holiday on Sardinia and can discover its different regional cuisines. No matter when one is staying by Olbia on Costa Smeralda, close to Cagliari, by Alghero, absolute must-tries will be the circular flatbread called pane carasau, a pig roasted in front of an open fire (porceddu), boiled snails (lumache) and oven-cooked loaf in stock and covered with cheese (zuppa gallurese).
Though with all the secrets of this island, the majority of travelers still come there for a great beach vacation as it is known to be an iconic high-end destination for its shopping areas, restaurant offer and fantastic Sardinia luxury villas. There are so many stunning coves, pristine bays and picturesque beaches on this island that it is almost impossible to choose the best ones, as there are always some that are better than the best. However if you are traveling to Sardinia for the first time, the best-beach rating below will be very useful as a starting point.

For luxury accommodations close to the beaches, check http://www.amarantelva.com/luxury-villas-in-sardinia.html

Sa Colonia – Chia

Located in the South Sardinia, the beaches of Chia, a small town away from the beach, giving its name to several spots of the coastline, including Sa Colonia and Su Portu are known for their light-honey sand with dunes and forests. It is a great option for those coming with children for its shallow waters.

La Cinta & Cala Brandinchi - San Teodoro

Known for its lily-white beaches, La Cinta and Cala Brandinchi, and azure sea, the area of San Teodoro got nicknamed Little Tahiti. Perfect for kiteserfer.

Spiaggia Di Principe - Costa Smeralda

Stretched over 55 km, Costa Smeralda is home to more than 80 beaches and coves beloved by jetset from all over the world including the so-called Prince´s beach (Spiaggia Di Principe in Italian) that is supposed to be the favourite beach of Prince Karim Aga Khan).

La Maddalena - Archipelago di Maddalena

Part of an archipelago of pink-granite islands pointed at Corsica at the north-east part of Sardinia, Maddalena would be a great point for snorkelling, swimming and boating around enjoying the stunning coastline and sea views.

Cala Gonone - Central Sardinia

Located in the dramatic eastern coast of Sardinia, Cala Gonone, Cala Goloritze, Cala Mariolu and Cala Luna, the sunlit coves with sugary white sand mantled with pine trees.

The Sardinia beach list could have been continued but the biggest pleasure for any traveler will be to find their own secret beaches and coves to enjoy the lovely Sardinian summer.

Athens Food Guide – must tries of the Greek capital

Athens, the capital of Greece, is one of the oldest remaining cities in the world and an open-air museum par excellence entering the bucket list of almost all the travelers along with the eternal city of Rome, elegant Paris, charming Florence and romantic Venice. Center of the culture, art, sports, science, philosophy in the past, nicknamed Cradle of the Western Civilization, with one of the richest histories of the planet, Athens... see more has so many magnificent spots to see that when coming there for a vacation one has to make a very precise itinerary and planning and follow it in order to be able to visit as many of the sights as possible. It is very easy to get inveigled by undreamt-of places and activities in this Greek city and miss all the canonical must-sees and must-does.
For accommodation, it is also better to book in advance especially if you are looking for a unit of some certain standards in a good area within an easy access to the city center. Despite the fact the capital of the Hellenic Republic is a big and well-developed city, the offer of Athens luxury apartments as well as Athens luxury villas is quite reduced so the best ones get rented before one can say Jack Robinson.
For sure, when in Greece, you will visit the fantastic Acropolis and Parthenon, magnificent Temple of Olympian Zeus, postcard-like Odeon of Herodes Atticus, picturesque National Gardens, movie-like Theatre of Dionysus, impressive seaside Temple of Poseidon and many other UNESCO World Heritage sites but what you shall not forget about the dining experience in Athens and essential ingredient of a successful trip.
The mainland and island Greek cuisine have a lot in common and share many dishes with some small and not-that-small variations coming primarily from the geographical differences. All of them can mostly be found anywhere on the land of Zeus. Though if you are not planning to try the specialties in their homeland or do not have enough time to visit all the corners of the country, the best place to take a foray into the Greek foods is Athens that has absorbed all the Greek cuisines, has welcomed the Greeks from all the parts of the country and has prepared a vast offer of chic white-tie restaurants and homey tavernas.
So what are the top essentials for trying? It might sound a bit corny to praise Horiatiki, or the Greek salad, known absolutely to everybody. However, for one to get to know what is the real Greek salad, he shall try it in Greece – and understand there is nothing to do with what is served as a Greek salad in all other countries. There is only cucumber, tomato, pepper, red onion, Kalamata olives, olive oil and a feta cheese brick crowning the salad. Nothing else.
The second most well known Greek dish is definitely Moussaka. A seasoned sliced-eggplant casserole with meat, tomato sauce, cheese and bechamel sauce normally prepared one day before serving for the dish to get seized. It is impossible to avoid loving it.
Number three is souvlaki, kind of the Greek fastfood. Wraped in pita or as such, these grilled meat skewers are normally served with some garnish like salad leaves, cucumber and onion and some sauce.
Another must-try of the Greek cuisine in Athens is a distant relative of the falafel called Revithokeftedes. Spiced oval- or ball-shaped chickpea fritters served with pita bread and a sauce. Do not miss some other keftedes (fritters) like kolokithokeftedes made of shredded courgettes or tomatokeftedes made of tomatoes. All are irresistible.
For vegetarians, there is Dolmathakia, grapes leaves rolls stuffed with herbs, rice and nuts and served with a sauce. Non-vegetarian options stuffed with meat exist as well.
One of the protagonists of the Greek cuisine is the filo pastry used both in desserts and salty preparations like Spanakopita, a mouth-watering triangle, square, rolled or any-other-shape filo pies with feta, onion, egg and spinach. A dessert filo pastry option is bougatsa, a custard cream pie sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.
There are some many other fantastic Greek dishes that one could write a culinary book or an encyclopedia rather than an article and any kind of eater will find there something to his taste no matter whether he is a vegetarian or a meat lover, a gluten-free or paleo diet follower, a rational ascetic or a trencher man. The Greek cuisine can either be loved or hated but can never leave one indifferent.
